Quick answer
Does submitting an enquiry mean you have applied for a loan?
On Funding Felix, submitting the form saves your request for a conversation and shows a reference. It does not submit a lender application, run a live credit check or commit the company to finance. A proposed broker introduction is discussed with you before the enquiry is shared.
Key points
- The reference confirms storage of the enquiry.
- A broker introduction and a lender application are later steps.
- Ask who will receive information and what checks are proposed.
- Only written terms can describe an actual offer.
The reference confirms a record, not an approval
After the Felix form is successfully saved, the site displays an enquiry reference. Keep that reference for a later conversation. It helps the team identify the request without asking you to repeat every answer.
The reference is deliberately separate from a lending result. No live credit score, lender acceptance or approved amount is generated by this form. If a submission fails, the page should explain the problem instead of suggesting the enquiry has been delivered somewhere it has not.
The first review is about understanding the brief
The team can check that the company, purpose, amount, trading information and contact route form a usable starting point. If the numbers need clarification or an important detail is missing, the next conversation should resolve it.
A clear brief separates reported answers from completed checks. Someone entering a company number does not prove authority to act for it. An email address with valid syntax does not establish that its mailbox belongs to the requester. A provisional profile helps organise review; it is not an independent verification of every field.
Be ready to explain the period behind turnover, existing commitments and any deadline. If the original answer was an estimate, update it when better information is available.
Understand who does what
Funding Felix explains categories and collects an enquiry. A broker can discuss the requirement and the providers it may approach. A lender decides whether it will provide finance under its assessment and terms. Those roles should remain clear throughout the process.
Ask the broker which services it is providing, how its fees or remuneration work and who it proposes to contact. This is also the point to clarify which information is needed, what a proposed search means and which actions require your participation.
A provider’s initial eligibility process can still leave further assessment outstanding. iwoca’s API documentation, for example, distinguishes eligibility to apply from guaranteed approval [1]. Read any result according to its actual definition.
Share the right evidence through an agreed route
Later steps may need bank statements, accounts, supplier quotes, project information or identity evidence. Ask which documents, which dates, who receives them and how to send them securely. Do not send an unrestricted bundle simply because several parties might be involved.
Never give Felix banking passwords or one-time codes. If a provider uses an authorised account connection, use its supported process and understand the permissions. Keep a record of what you supplied and which version of the figures it supports.
The initial Felix form is designed to start without uploads. That keeps the first conversation focused on the requirement and the appropriate next evidence.
Indicative terms leave questions to resolve
An early illustration can help assess whether a route deserves further work, but it is not the same as unconditional access to funds. Record the remaining evidence, conditions and professional work before relying on a date.
When an actual proposal exists, compare the net advance, payment schedule, total cost, fees, security and guarantees. Ask what happens if you repay early or the business plan changes. Reconcile the final agreement with the earlier illustration rather than assuming the figures have stayed identical.
A decision should follow the company’s cash forecast and the written terms. The amount a provider might make available is not itself a reason to borrow it.
Keep control of the next step
At the end of each conversation, agree the next action, its owner and the date. If you are still exploring, say so. If a deadline is fixed, explain why and ask what remains uncertain. A useful process makes the outstanding work visible.
You can use the Felix guides before enquiring or while preparing for a call. The aim is to make the first step clearer and the later questions more specific. A completed form begins that conversation; it does not replace the decisions and checks that follow.
